Optical transition edge sensor (TES) detectors which can resolve an energy of a single photon have proven desirable in quantum information and biology. Applications to biology demands high resolution of wavelength. To improve the resolution, we studied the thermodynamic noise of a TES. We measured parameters such as the temperature sensitivity and the current sensitivity, extracted from the complex impedance, calculated the theoretical noise limit using the parameters and investigated if there was an excess noise.
