[12a-S201-9] Glass coating of CdSe-based quantum dots and barrier properties evaluated by leakage of heavy metals

Photostable quantum dots (QDs) are highly indispensable for energy and biological applications. We have continuously worked on glass coating methods. Among all others, glass capsules encapsulated multiple quantum dots are the most successful. We found out that the dissolved amount of Cd2+ from the capsules to the buffer solution depends heavily on glass layer preparation methods. The properties observed here are applicable to other QDs such as perovskite as well.
