[12a-S301-11] Generation of spin defects in h-BN and measurements of their optical properties

We generated boron vacancy (VB) center in hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) which acts as spin defect and measured their optical properties. VB was generated in thin h-BN flake by 40keV-N2 ion irradiation (fluence : 1×1014~1017cm-2).This exhibited photoluminescence (PL) emission at 700~900nm under 532nm laser excitation. We performed optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) measurements to demonstrate quantum sensing of magnetic field. As a result, we confirmed two ODMR signals centered 3.46GHz split with increasing magnetic fields.
