▼ [12a-S402-1] Proton-mediated control of enzymatic cascade reactions by an electric biotransducer
キーワード:ATP synthase, Supported Lipid bilayers, Proton biotransducer
Along with ions and small molecules, ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) play an important role in biology. FoF1-ATP synthase is one of the most common enzymes in biology, syntheize ATP by ADP and Pi driven by proton motive force (PMF), mainly depends on pH gradient. Here, we fabricate an electron–proton coupling biodevice that can transmit a proton signal from a device to a biological system via an external voltage. The proton signal can be regulated by the potential applied to the sulfonated polyaniline biotransducer. This proton regulation controls ATP synthesis on the ATP synthase membrane, and subsequent bioluminescence in the luciferin-luciferase reaction fueled by ATP products. This electron-proton protonic biotransducer provides a new way to control the biological cascade reaction, and the proton signal is mediated by an external voltage. (Fig. 1)
