[12p-N201-6] Autonomous materials synthesis for materials discovery and database creation

Ryota Shimizu1 (1.Tokyo Tech)

Keywords:Autonomous synthesis, inorganic thin-film materials, robotics

For inorganic thin-film materials research, here, I introduce our autonomous system composed of a robot and artificial intelligence (AI). The robot automatically synthesizes and evaluates thin films. Subsequently, the AI again indicates the next synthesis conditions to the robot based on the updated dataset. This closed-loop cycle generates a large amount of data regarding materials properties and processes, leading to materials discovery quickly and precisely.
