Spinodal decomposition often occurs anisotropically in rutile oxide systems. However, in the rutile-type TiO2-RuO2 system the decomposition occurs isotropically as shouwnin previous bulk experiments. In this presentation, we will show that the spinodal decomposition in epitaxial TiO2-RuO2 films occurs isotropically even though in-plane lattice of the films was clamped. We will consider the reason why anisotropic decomposition is unlikely to occur from the viewpoint of crystal structure.
