▲ [12p-N204-9] Effect of radical scavenger on Polyvinyl Alcohol-Potassium Iodine reaction in plasma irradiated water
Keywords:reactive oxygen radicals, PVA-KI
Atmospheric pressure plasma jet has been widely applied in biomedical and agricultural fields. Because it can generate chemically reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as hydroxyl radicals (OH). The treatment efficiency of plasma jet has close relation with ROS production and its transport. Our group uses polyvinyl alcohol-potassium iodide (PVA-KI), as a chemical probe to study the generation of radicals by plasma irradiation. The solution of PVA-KI shows a unique color reaction in the presence of reactive oxygen radicals. And this process is still not understood in which reactive oxygen species (ROS) makes main role. In this work, it is reported which ROS in the plasma irradiated PVA-KI solution and works in color reaction.
