Our group is focusing on rocksalt-structured (RS) MgZnO alloys as candidate materials for VUV light emitter behind their ultrawide bandgap energy of 4.5 to 7.8 eV. In this presentation, we will show recent observation of VUV exciton spectra for MgO single crystal as an endpoint material of RS-MgZnO alloys to establish further understanding of emission property of RS-MgZnO alloys.
