Keywords:optical waveguide

It is expected that optical fibers will be used in in-vehicle communication, but vibration will cause damage and loss at the connections between the optical fibers. As a method of suppressing loss and securing a connection, a light-induced self-written waveguide in which an optical fiber is filled with a photocurable resin and irradiated with laser light to be connected by a waveguide has been studied. In this study, we made a LISW optical waveguide in which adhesiveness and elasticity were imparted to the optical waveguide material using a gel material.
