[12p-N307-10] Aggregation-Induced Emission Behaviors and Photoresponsivity of Azobenzene Molecules
Keywords:Azobenzene, Photoisomerization, Aggregation-induced emission
Azobenzene shows the high-efficient trans-cis photoisomerization, and therefore it is used as a basic structure of photoresponsive materials. Generally, azobenzene derivatives are non-emissive because the majority of photoexcited energy is used for the non-radiative photoisomerization. Here, we found that non-emissive azobenzene derivatives in monomeric solution can emit upon the aggregation. Furthermore, we attempted to control the emission color in the aggregate state by the photoisomerization.
