[12p-N401-6] Accelerated oxygen diffusion in EuBCO single crystals through heat treatment under oxygen atmosphere including water vapor
Keywords:REBCO, single crystal, oxygen diffusion
Since REBCO has a large nonstoichiometry in oxygen content and is typically generated with the underdoped state, it is essential to control the oxygen content appropriately through post-annealing under an oxygen atmosphere. However, oxygen diffusion is slow in oriented materials and long oxygen annealing is required. We have previously reported that annealing of REBCO melt-textured bulks in an oxygen atmosphere containing water vapor generates a large number of stacking faults in the REBCO crystal, and oxygen diffusion is greatly accelerated. In this study, we investigated the change in superconducting properties of EuBCO single crystals as a fuction of annealing times in different atmospheres in order to understand the essential effect of water vapor on oxygen diffusion behavior.
