▲ [12p-S302-15] Orbital hybridization of Fe 3d orbitals with the host InSb bands in n-type ferromagnetic semiconductor (In,Fe)Sb
キーワード:Ferromagnetic Semiconductor, X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism
Spintronics is a research field that uses both the charge and spin degrees of freedom of electrons, and new spintronics devices beyond the existing electronics framework have been studied. Promising materials for spintronics are the ferromagnetic semiconductors (FMSs), which have the properties of both semiconductors and magnetic materials. However, much remains unknown about the mechanism of ferromagnetism in FMSs, so understanding the magnetic properties of FMSs is important for the application and development of spintronics. In this study, the magnetic state of (In,Fe)Sb has been investigated using X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism. The observations suggest that the magnetism of (In,Fe)Sb originates from the hybridization of the Fe 3d orbitals with the InSb bands.
