▲ [12p-S402-13] WIRELESS ELECTROCHROMIC SOFT CONTACT LENSES USING PEDOT:PSS COMPOSITE FILM
キーワード:PEDOT: PSS, electrochromic, contact lenses
INTRODUCTION
Smart contact lenses are the next generation of products with capabilities beyond simple vision correction. Since the electrical lenses are in continuous contact with the eyeball surface, they have three main applications: (i) biomedical sensing of tears to monitor health conditions, (ii) wearable displays for augmented reality (AR), and (iii) actively regulating eye accommodation to ensure perfect vision. Recently, We succeeded to make a wireless-powered electric contact lens and demonstrate illumination of single light-emitting diode display as a function of eye rotation angle. Here, we demonstrate a wireless-powered electrochromic contact lens using a PEDOT: PSS-based composite film (Fig 1).
RESULTS
We used the magnetic resonance coupling WPT circuits consisting of two LC resonators to realize the wireless power supply from the transmitter antenna on eyeglass to the receiver antenna on contact lens. The PEDOT film has good tensile properties, We can achieve the reversible color changes with the different resonant frequencies of 13.56MHz and 28.4 MHz. (Fig. 2(a)(b)).
CONCLUSIONS
We have developed a wireless electrochromic system for smart contact lenses based on the PEDOT film. The PEDOT composite film has good properties such as stretchily, electrical conductivity, and electrochromism. We can achieve the repeated color changes wirelessly, and demonstrate the Morse signals by controlling the color for appropriate time.
