[13a-N107-10] Study on the Photoreaction Evaluation System Applied to Photostability of Medicines

Yoshiyuki Tange1 (1.SHIMADZU Co.)

Keywords:Photoreaction Evaluation System, photolysis, pharmaceutical

Since some pharmaceuticals produce photodecomposition products when exposed to ambient light, it is necessary to confirm that no changes such as degradation occur. In general, photostability evaluation, the measurement of the amount of energy actually applied to a drug has been avoided because of the large labor required. In this study, a more substantial and efficient method for evaluating optical stability will be studied using the Lightway™ (product name: PQY™-01), a photoreaction evaluation system capable of simply measuring the number of photons absorbed in a substance.
