We show through numerical simulations that the ponderomotive potential provided by a tightly focused cylindrically symmetric laser field can function as a round lens for an electron beam. To maximize the interaction between light and electrons based on stimulated Compton scattering, we considered tightly focusing an annular beam with radial/azimuthal polarization by a high NA objective. We evaluated the characteristics of the realized round lens action and found that it has a remarkable feature of negative spherical aberration.
