Yamashita et al. Have proposed a method that can detect DNA with high sensitivity by an electrochemical method by introducing [Ru(bpy)2DPPZ]2+ as a secondary probe molecule. This method utilizes the phenomenon that the resistance of the electrode surface increases as the ruthenium complex in the solution is incorporated into the double helix structure of DNA. However, the mechanism of why such a phenomenon is occurring is unknown. Therefore, we focused on the charge on the surface of the electrode and evaluated what kind of electrochemical behavior is observed depending on the difference in charge.
