In this study, we apply our recently developed mode-locked Cr:ZnS laser to demonstrate the BF spectroscopy at the wavelength range centered at 2.3 mm with improved sensitivity compared with traditional absorption spectroscopy. The spectrum of methane v3+v4 band and carbon monoxide 2v1 brand around 2.3 μm is obtained and we evaluate LOD of , which is more than 5 times enhanced compared with the traditional absorption spectroscopy.
