Topological photonics offers new approaches for molding the flow of light. Of particular interest are topologically-protected optical modes immune to disorders. This novel concept in designing optical structures promises the progress of nanophotonics, where nanofabrication inevitably accompanies with non-negligible structural imperfections. In this talk, we will review our recent efforts in topological nanophotonics based on semiconductors. We have proposed and examined topological waveguides based on valley photonic crystals (VPhCs) and those based on other topological structures so far. We also investigated topological nanocavities using zero-dimensional edge states found in an interface of one-dimensional photonic crystals and in a corner of a higher-order topological photonic crystal as well. Furthermore, we will discuss recent progress in our theoretical study of high-power single-mode lasers based on topological interface states.
