[13a-N406-6] Positive Magnetoresistance from Chiral Anomaly in Type-II Weyl Semimetals

Kazuki Morishima1, Kenji Kondo1 (1.Hokkaido Univ. RIES)

Keywords:Weyl semimetals, chiral anomaly, magnetoresistance

Weyl semimetals are classified into two types such as Type-I and Type-II depending on the magnitude of the inclination of Weyl cones. It is known that the Type-I Weyl semimetals show the negative magnetoresistance originating from chiral anomaly. However, we have found that the Type-II Weyl semimetals show not only the negative magnetoresistance but also the positive one originating from the chiral anomaly. Also, we have succeeded in explaining both the signs of the magnetoresistance in the Type-II Weyl semimetals utilizing both Landau energy-levels and the formula of chiral magnetic effect.
