[13p-N103-2] Demonstration of InP/InGaAsP polarization rotator based on mode evolution
Keywords:polarization
As communication capacity increases, optical transmitters and receivers with monolithic integration of polarization control elements are required, and robust polarization control elements that can be monolithically integrated into InP-based optical integrated circuits are needed. we report the first fabrication and demonstration of a mode-evolved InP integrated polarization rotator with a half-ridge structure. The fabricated device achieved robust operation with a conversion efficiency of more than 88% for a waveguide width error of 75 nm in the entire C-band region.
