[13p-N103-3] Design of Tunable TE-TM Mode Converter with Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

We have proposed a novel 3 dB mode demultiplexer / converter which the input light of the TE and TM mode are converted into two out-of-phase TM modes and in-phase TM modes, respectively, and divided into two waveguide. In this study, we propose a tunable TE-TM mode converter with Mach-Zehnder interferometer which consists of two 3 dB mode demultiplexers / converters. We numerically demonstrate the output light can be controlled by changing the phase difference between the two arms.
