Cortisol is a steroid hormone and a known biomarker for stress. Quantitative detection of cortisol can diagnose stress related disorders in the early stages. In this presentation, we explore the development of a non-enzymatic molecular imprinted polymer based on reduced graphene oxide and beta-cyclodextrin as a sensor electrode for electrochemical detection of cortisol in biological samples. Cyclodextrin and its ability to create host-guest interactions are used for the recognition of Cortisol, which enhances the selectivity of the MIP. The method and materials discussed can be used as a template for developing sensors for other biomarkers.
