Chronic kidney disease is estimated to affect about 1 in 8 Japanese people. Chronic kidney disease has no subjective symptoms and often loses more than half of its renal function when it is noticed. Therefore, early detection is required. In this study, we constructed a biosensor that can measure creatinine, which is a marker of chronic kidney disease, with surface plasmon resonance and molecularly imprinted polymer in an unlabeled and highly sensitive manner.
