Efficient generation and manipulation of spin current is one of the central themes of spintronics research. We report the discovery of robust spin current generation using a ferroelectric oxide containing heavy elements. Our finding could potentially pave the way for non-volatile electric field control of spin current and related spin-orbitronics functionalities.
