[21p-P10-1] Transmission characteristics of hybrid plasmonic elements with a trench structure at telecommunication wavelength

To decrease the loss of devices using surface plasmon polaritons, a hybrid device that combines photonics and plasmonics applies the plasmonic device only to the necessary parts to suppress the loss. We designed and fabricated a hybrid plasmonic element that combines an optical waveguide and a plasmonic waveguide, and evaluated the transmission characteristics of the structure.
