▲ [22a-P09-11] Scalable spin Seebeck device using Fe-oxide nanoparticle assembled film on flexible substrate
Keywords:Spin Seebeck effect, Fe-oxide nanoparticle, Flexible device
Spin Seebeck effect (SSE) is one of heat-charge conversion technologies based on magnetic insulators and heavy metals, which has been extensively studied toward thermoelectric power generator and heat flow sensor. The SSE device on a flexible substrate has an advantage for thermoelectric devices because the sufficient flexibility realizes the thermoelectric power generation from the heat sources with anon-flat surface. In this study, we focused on Fe-oxide magnetic insulator nanoparticle (NP) assembled films on the flexible polyimide substrate with low-cost fabrication method using spin coating. We fabricated a SSE thermopile device consisting of the cut NP assembled films and a large polyimide sheet and obtained a sufficient SSE voltage of thermopile device. This result indicates that the SSE device based on a NP assembled film on a flexible substrate has good scalability because we can fabricate a complex structure using the low-cost process without the lithography techniques.
