[22p-P04-16] Investigation of Vertical-Gold Ring Using Chemical Surface Modification Techniques

A split ring resonator (SRR) of about 100 nm size has been confirmed to show the strong magnetic response in visible and near infrared region. In order for the optical magnetic field component and the SRR to strongly interact with each other, it is desirable that the surface formed by the ring be a vertical SRR disposed perpendicular to the substrate. In this study, we investigated a new method for fabricating vertical SRR structures on arbitrary substrates using nanospheres with metal rings fabricated by the Nanosphere Lithography (NSL) method and chemical surface modification technology on the substrate.
