[22p-P04-2] Pattern Recognition using a Bacteriorhodopsin Gabor Filter

In this report, we have attempted to construct an artificial visual function device without power supply in imitation of visual function of a living body. As the visual function, we focused on Gabor filters that imitates visual receptive fields of primary visual cortex simple cells in cerebrum. In previous reports, we have discussed a fabrication of Gabor filters using bacteriorhodopsin via inkjet method and its basic properties. Herein, we will report result of pattern recognition of Gabor filters by irradiating images of segmented characters while moving them left and right.
