[22p-P08-6] Rheological measurement of early developing embryo using atomic force microscopy force curves
Keywords:atomic force microscopy, embryogenesis, cell mechanics
Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is a powerful tool to track mechanical properties of developing embryo during developmental process because of the low invasiveness and high speed mapping measurement. In this study, we performed rheological measurements of early developing embryo using the approaching and retracting force curves of AFM. The results showed that the elastic modulus increased while the fluidity (a viscosity factor) decreased during cell division. We also found that the rheological properties of embryonic cells spatiotemporally changed as entering the gastrula stage. The detailed results will be presented.
