[22p-P09-6] Scanning biosensing using bipolar phenomenon
Keywords:biosensor, bipolar phenomenon, electrochemical impedance
Simple and rapid detection of biomaterials is very important in fields such as clinical examinations, environmental surveys, food inspections. Here, we report the scanning biosensing method with bipolar phenomenon. The sensing method detects the presence of modifiers on a bipolar electrode from the changing impedance between driving electrodes. Furthermore, electrode scanning enables continuous detection of modifiers. The continuous detection by the proposed scanning sensing system showed a clear difference between the impedance values derived from unmodified gold electrode and gold electrodes modified with three alkanthiols. Thiol modification increased the impedance value from the value of the unmodified electrode and thiol with a longer alkyl-chain further increased the difference in impedance values. These results indicate that the scanning detection with bipolar phenomenon is a promising method for continuously detecting organic modifiers on bipolar electrodes.
