In recent years, hybrid vehicles (HV) and electric vehicles (EV) have been actively developed from the viewpoint of environmental consideration, and a cathode active material capable of storing more electric power is indispensable. Currently, crystalline materials are used as the cathode active material for lithium-ion batteries (LIB), but their discharge capacity is limited (LiFePO4 = 160 mAh/g). In this research, we focused on glass, which is an amorphous material with many atomic-sized pores and prepared a cathode active material for realizing high-capacity batteries.
