[16a-P06-5] Effects of Saccharification on Photoacoustic Properties of Bone

Diabetes disease can reduce bone structure function, and it is important to evaluate bone strength. Bone mineral density(BMD) and bone quality contribute to bone strength. Currently, the mainstream diagnosis is BMD only by the X-ray method. X-ray method cannnot evaluate diseases caused by bone quality such as diabetes. In recent years, the possibility of bone structure analysis by photoacoustic method has been reported. However, the effectiveness of photoacoustic method for bone measurement due to diabetes is unknown. In this study, we compared the photoacoustic waveforms of bone samples simulating healthy persons and bone samples simulating diabetic patients using the photoacoustic method.
