Keywords:Plasmon, resonance wavelength, fluorescence microscope

In our laboratory, the enhanced fluorescence based on the grating-coupled surface plasmon resonance has been observed with a plasmonic chip in which a wavelength-sized periodic pattern is coated with a thin metal film. Recently, in fluorescence images observed with a fluorescence microscope under the transmitted light, significant fluorescence enhancement has been observed at the center of the Bull's eye pattern. In this study, a resonance wavelength shifted by increment of SiO2 layer thickness on a plasmonic chip was found to improve the fluorescence enhancement.
