In the previous presentation, we have reported that the dielectrophoresis of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots with a diameter of approximately 6 nm is experimentally possible even in a normal temperature solution by combining resonant excitation with a 532 nm laser beam and an un-uniform high electric field. However, their density distribution resulted from the dielectrophoresis was inconsistent with the distribution of the electric field strength. To clarify cause for this experimental result, we observed a flow in the solution by using fluorescent nanodiamond particles and found that convection in the solution plays a crucial role in the transport of the quantum dot.
