Keywords:Photo-induced force microscopy

Photoinduced force microscopy (PiFM) is based on the atomic force microscopy and detects the gradient of localized light between the tip and the sample by using force. Conventional PiFM cannot achieve sufficient force detection sensitivity and spatial resolution due to various problems caused by the ambient air and room temperature condition. In this study, we have developed LT-UHV PiFM that can be operated in ultrahigh vacuum and low temperature condition and we present the result of observation of pentacene membrane on Ag substrate.
