[16a-Z20-9] Study of Characteristics and Improvement of Photo-Durability of Low-Temperature-Prepared Zinc Oxide-Based Inverted Organic Solar Cells.
Keywords:Organic Solar Cells, Zinc oxide
Organic Solar Cells (OSC) have the characteristics of lightweight and flexible, and are expected as next-generation solar cells. We have been focusing on photo-stability of OSCs and developed i-OSC device by using ZnO or titanium oxide (TiO2) as an ETL materials at 2003, which is pioneer study for stable OSCs which can work under ambient conditions. Our i-OSCs show good device durability. However, i-OSC have serious problem relates to ZnO; preparation temperature of ZnO for i-OSC is much higher than heat resistance temperature of common plastic substrates, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Reducing the preparation temperature of ZnO is important issue to develop next generation solar cells with flexible/printable nature (preparation temperature of ZnO for our stable i-OSC: 250°C). In this report, we discuss the mechanisms of photo-durability of low-temperature-prepared zinc oxide-based inverted Organic Solar Cells.
