[16a-Z22-10] Effects of Tip Shape on Insertion of Bioabsorbable Microneedles
Keywords:microneedle, bioabsorbable materials, insertion
Bioabsorbable polymers are useful as materials for medical devices used in the body, and the development of precision fabrication technology for miniaturization of devices is underway. In particular, microneedles made of bioabsorbable polymers are attracting attention as a minimally invasive transdermal drug delivery technology. However, the strength of polymer materials is low, so even if needles which have sharp tips are fabricated, the tip deforms plastically during insertion. Therefore, the design guidelines for the microneedle tip were discussed from the viewpoint of deformation insertion force in this study.
