Among various chemical manufacturing methods for REBa2Cu3Oy (RE123) superconducting thin films, the fluorine-free (FF)-MOD method is the most suitable for mass production because biaxially oriented thin films can be grown in a short time by a relatively simple solid-state reaction. In our study, we have optimized the preparation composition of the raw material solution and sintering conditions for the improvement of critical current (Ic) in the preparation of RE123 thin films on the tape-like metal clad (CeO2/YSZ/Y2O3/Ni/Cu/SUS) substrate with a biaxially oriented intermediate layer that can be lengthened using the FF-MOD method.
