[16p-Z06-2] Superconducting quantum computers - State of the art and beyond
Keywords:Superconducting quantum computers, Quantum Information Processing
Superconducting quantum computers have been extensively studied in the world. Whereas quantum circuits having more than 50 qubits have been reported, there still exist bottlenecks for scaling up the devices. As 1-mm-diameter coaxial cables are employed for wiring to the qubit devices, and because we need a few wires per qubit, such wiring cables are significant overhead for larger quantum circuits. A new trend for scaling up came up recently using optical fiber cables and wavelength division multiplexing, and they may drastically reduce the number of wiring in a cryostat. In my talk, I will review the fundamental operation of quantum computers. I will further discuss the prospects for scaling up the quantum information processor.
