[16p-Z11-14] A Simple technique for Brillouin scattering measurement using high frequency ultrasound
Keywords:Brillouin scattering
In the Brillouin scattering method, the sound velocity in the GHz range can be measured locally, non-destructively and non-contactly by measuring the shift frequency of light scattered by thermal phonons in the medium. An interferometer is often used for this measurement, but it is not suitable for long time measurement because of its weakness against temperature change. In this study, we report a simple measurement of Brillouin scattering using strong light scattering by ultrasonic waves in the range of several hundred MHz emitted from a ZnO thin-film transducer.
