[16p-Z11-3] Development of an output coupler for optical pumped short-wavelenght far-infrared lasers

We have developed a CO2 laser pumped short-wavelength far-infrared (FIR) laser device that oscillates at a wavelength of 100 µm or less for fusion plasma diagnostics. In this study, the substrate and thin film material for a short-wavelength FIR laser output coupler were selected, and the highly reflective multilayer mirror for pump CO2 laser light was designed and vapor-deposited. It was confirmed that a 57-µm CH3OD laser oscillates at an output of 100 mW using a Si output coupler with a λ/4 multilayer film of CsI and Ge.
