Keywords:bacteriorhodopsin, artificial visual function, inkjet method

In this research, we have attempted to construct an artificial visual function device without power supply in imitation of visual function of a living body. As the visual function, we focused on Gabor filter that imitates visual receptive field of primary visual cortex simple cell in cerebrum. The Gabor filter was fabricated by inkjet patterning of bacteriorhodopsin that obtain from halobacterium halobium. In this presentation, we will report basic characteristics of the device and trial of pattern recognition using the filter.
