PCR testing plays a vital role for determining the presence or absence of SARS-CoV-2 infection, however, a simple and rapid diagnostic device for the POCT use remains an urgent issue. On the other hand, we have originally developed the centrifugal thermal convection PCR method. Here, we have applied the technology to the detection of SARS-CoV-2 gene. The N2 primer set shown in the National Institute of Infectious Diseases manual was used as the detection probe. After optimization for the centrifugal PCR conditions as relative gravitational acceleration 5G, 15 minutes, we have successfully detected the SARS-CoV-2 sequence.
