In the long-term synthesis of CNT forests, CNTs stop self-growth and reach a length of about several mm due to the diffusion of Fe catalysts into the Al2O3 supported layer and Ostwald drying. Recently, CNTs that enable long-term growth have been reported by the CVD method using a Fe-Gd catalyst. In this study, we investigated the tensile properties and electrical properties of a 14 cm high continuous crystalline CNT forest achieved with a Fe-Gd catalyst.
