[17a-Z10-10] Investigation of back propagation using microring resonator crossbar array

Optical neural network (ONN) based on Si programmable photonic integrated circuit (PIC) attracts a lot of attention and we have proposed ONN using microring resonator (MRR) crossbar array. This PIC is expected to be able to procedure matrix-vector multiplication (MVM) using transpose matrix, which is applicable for back propagation to train neural network. We investigated feasibility of back propagation using MRR crossbar array by demonstration of transpose matrix operation.
