Keywords:spin Hall effect, spin current, spin-orbit torque

Spin Hall effect is a one of the major sources to generate a pure spin current from electrical means and allows efficient control of magnetization. So far, the spin Hall effect has been investigated using materials with strong spin-orbit coupling, and light elements, such as 3d transition metals, are often considered to be negligible because of its weak spin-orbit coupling. Contrary to this, we report an efficient spin Hall material can be realized in 3d transition metals. In this presentation, we report large spin-Hall effect in the amorphous Co-Ni-B alloys under paramagnetic state.
