Radiation detectors composed of scintillators and photodetectors such CCD are widely used in X-ray imaging applications. Earlier, we have reported eutectic scintillators for X-ray imaging. Such scintillators consist of high refractive index fibers of several μm in diameter surrounded by lower refractive index matrix material. Such eutectic structure works as an optical waveguide and high resolution X-ray imaging can be achieved. In this work, we investigate Csl/KI/KCl eutectic using the CsI phase as a scintillator. Fabrication technology of the eutectic with optical waveguide structure and evaluation of scintillator characteristics were performed.
