[17p-Z10-3] Current Status of Efforts for High Conversion Efficiency of NV Center in Diamond

Shinobu Onoda1 (1.QST)

Keywords:Diamond, NV center, Irradiation method

The method of creating the NV center in diamond, which is a promising spin defect as a solid-state quantum sensor operating at room temperature, can be roughly divided into a crystal synthesis method and an irradiation method. In the former case, a part of the P1 center (isolated nitrogen impurity at the substitutional carbon) introduced during the synthesis of the diamond crystal becomes the NV center. In the latter case, the irradiation method can increase the NV center in diamond by using a particle beam such as electron and ion beam. We are aiming for high conversion efficiency by combining the crystal synthesis method and the irradiation method. In this presentation, I will discuss efforts for high conversion efficiency and future issues.
