[17p-Z10-5] Detection of spin waves via nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond

Toshu An1 (1.JAIST)

Keywords:NV center, spin waves, diamond, spintronics

Spin wave detection via nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond is introduced as an application of NV centers to the spintronics field. A millimeter-scale of long-distance traveled surface spin waves excited in a magnetic insulator (iron yttrium garnet) can excite NV centers with an energy-resonant matching condition by monitoring the NV's optically detected magnetic resonance and also Rabi oscillation signals. In addition, thermal magnon spin-transfer torque applied to the surface spin waves can be probed as modified Rabi oscillation frequencies. Finally, a possible application of the NV spin-waves hybrid system will be discussed.
