Control of the magnetic anisotropy of a Bi-substituted rare-earth iron garnet is required to develop magneto-optical devices with the further high-sensitivity or with excellent high-frequency property. In this work, we selected Eu, Sm and Pr as rare-earth ions, focusing on the inverse magnetostrictive effect involved in the induced magnetic anisotropy, and evaluated the change in magnetic anisotropy due to these element substitutions by measuring ferromagnetic resonance. It was clarified that the substitution of theses elements has a greater effect on the uniaxially induced magnetic anisotropy than the crystalline magnetic anisotropy.
